Compliance Analyst Intern - Minnetonka, MN

As a Compliance Analyst with us, you will monitor changes to laws and regulations to ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates. Primary Responsibilities

• Establish and implement standard policies, procedures, processes, and best practices across the company to promote and ensure an effective compliance program through prevention, detection, and correction controls.
• Conduct research on federal and/or state-specific regulatory and contractual requirements and monitor changes to mitigate risks and achieve overall compliance.
• Initiate and execute compliance program activities on top organizational risks to mitigate potential issues and assess compliance with regulatory and/or contractual requirements.
• Identify potential compliance issues with regulatory and/or contractual requirements and ensure that remediation is undertaken and effective.
• Develop reporting that summarizes compliance issues and communicate associated risks to various stakeholders (i.e. business, compliance) to help drive remediation and problem resolution.

We are looking for someone that has strong analytical skills, attention to detail and outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal). You will work with team members located across the nation, meaning the candidate must possess good time management and communication skills as most work is done over the phone, mail or virtual meetings. This individual will help support Compliance Officers across various business segments and functional areas, so should be flexible in various work style personalities.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
• Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Experience in conducting data analytics

• Experience in conducting research

• 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher
