Enterprise Risk Financing and Insurance is responsible for collaborating with internal operations and external vendors to minimize and manage UnitedHealth Group’s risk through strategic risk financing and insurance programs. This position will be responsible for managing and assisting with various captive insurance programs, conducting due diligence analysis on acquisitions, along with other insurance-related duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support various captive property and casualty insurance programs, including policy creation/issuance, documentation, metrics, financial performance, and program statistics
• Support captive and commercial cyber insurance programs with requests for information from UHG businesses, vendors, and clients on the program
• Support actuarial analysis and fronting program processes for medical malpractice program: gather and assimilate insurance submission and actuarial data, support fronting insurance program including policy documentation
• Manage Patient Compensation Fund medical malpractice program mandatory reporting for healthcare providers
• Support risk management due diligence analysis for potential acquisitions and facilitate securing quotations for representations and warranties insurance
• Review of insurance-related contract provisions to ensure compliance
• Provide consultation and guidance to program insureds

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of commercial insurance or corporate insurance risk management experience including experience in negotiating and/or managing insurance programs 
• Broad knowledge of corporate property and casualty insurance coverages and policy forms, including contract and insurance policy language negotiation
• Familiarity with standard accounting practices
• MS Office, including Excel skills at the intermediate to advanced level 
• Project management and internal consulting skills desired with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple relationships 
• Ability to generate, pursue and operationalize ideas and processes 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree 
• Experience with captive insurance companies
• Industry designation such as ARM or CPCU
