    Gampac Logistics, a subsidiary of US Foods, specializes in transportation brokerage and logistics services for third party customers. As part of this fast growing division, Gampac works with major food, retail and CPG shippers in support of transportation solutions with its network of nearly 20,000 third party carriers.

    The Logistics Account Manager will source, secure and manage the transportation needs for new and existing Gampac customers. This includes daily conversations about freight lanes, rates and solutions Gampac has to offer. Consistently adding new customers, growing current accounts and current account modes of transportation is an essential function of Account Managers.

    This position is segmented as Hybrid- the work is a combination of being onsite (2 days a week) and remote from one of 3 locations: Rosemont, Illinois; Tempe, Arizona; or Fishers, Indiana.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    •    Create new customer account opportunities from prospecting to generating leads. Sourcing and securing freight from customers utilizing creative methods including but not limited to: Internet searches, Past Contacts, Website leads, and Business Development leads

    •    Creatively find new solutions for customers
    •    Develop opportunities from the Business Development Team
    •    Account management and growth of smaller assigned accounts by sourcing and securing opportunities from within each account
    •    As primary contact for your customers, you will be responsible for managing the relationship between the customer and Gampac
    •    Ensure accurate data capture, data integrity and system entry in all customer related functions
    •    Effectively utilize data and problem-solving skills to proactively resolve customer issues
    •    Lead Associates including scheduling, time tracking, performance feedback, and training
    •    Monitor current loads and proactively identify, communicate and resolve issues for customers
    •    Support A/R in collections of past due invoices for your customers
    •    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Education/Training:
    •    BA or BS degree or equivalent experience 

    Related Experience/Requirements: 
    •    Minimum of one (1) year of transportation brokerage experience
    •    Basic understanding of brokerage operations and geographic freight markets

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  
    •    Basic understanding of brokerage operations and geographic freight markets
    •    Prior demonstration of effective negotiation skills
    •    Existing customer base especially in temperature controlled industry is a plus

    •    Ability to work in a fast paced team environment and possess independent work desires
    •    Detail-oriented and meet scheduled activity deadlines
    •    Positive, influential communication skills
    •    Punctuality and a good work ethic are critical
    •    Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)
    •    Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively serve our customer’s needs
    •    Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
