Responsible for backup of A/P input payment of stock, ship direct and miscellaneous approved payables. The incumbent is also responsible for providing work direction for the Accounts Payable Clerk and the Accounts Payable Senior positions. All essential duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide back-up to A/P stock and A/P S/D purchase responsibilities.
Pursue problem vendor invoices by using mail, email, fax and telephone contact and check payments thru computer or other records analysis.
Respond promptly to all correspondence whether internal or external. Maintain orderly, up‑to‑date records and files.
Perform data input for stock, ship direct and miscellaneous payables; also includes processing weekly check cash disbursements.
Perform weekly payment file for the Amerifresh division.
Prepare and deliver brief, oral and written reports concerning vendor invoice processing problems.
Observe all company and departmental policies and procedures; maintain and project a professional approach and attitude.
Maintain the confidentiality of all payable information.
Calculate discount, terms and amount of all stock payables.
Provide verification of general ledger coding for all invoices.
Interface with corporate purchasing/inventory control. Includes follow‑up on invoice/purchase order variances, sales tax and freight problems.
Communicate with data processing as necessary to resolve accounts payable issues.
Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training and development programs for the assigned position.
