Position summary

Join Our Community of Food People!

Schedule Varies (hours subject to change with business need)

Sunday through Thursday (every other  Friday)

Sunday 6-10 pm, Mon – Thu 1 pm- 10:30 pm, every other Friday 5 pm - 10 pm 

(hours subject to change based on business needs)

  • Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver's logs.

  • Must be organized and detailed; and have legible handwriting.

  • Must be able to manage several things at once.

  • Must have (2) years transportation experience

  • In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury the dispatcher must notify the manger / supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP.

  • Coordinate driver activities to resolve service issues.  The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner. 

  • Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.

  • Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.

  • Assign backhauls as needed to be done in the most efficient manner possible.

  • Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments.

  • Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concerns regarding service issues that may arise in the event of a late dispatch, break down or other service failure.

  • Reassign routes as needed.

  • Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE.

  • Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.

  • Complete Attendance Reports.

  • Distribute intercompany mail to sales force.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.
