The Sr. Solution Architect (Retail) will be focus on providing overall strategic and execution leadership across the Application Development organization. In addition to architecting, designing solutions and leading their implementation, the Sr. Solution Architect is responsible to mentor Solution Architects and drive the strategy definition and execution of the technology products areas needed to drive US Foods’ digital transformation. This position supports our CHEF’STORE® business (80 retail stores and growing).

Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Senior Solution Architect - Retail Business position is completed remotely anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position may have the potential to travel up to 20% dependent on business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and identify short and mid-term technology trends;
In collaboration with the Enterprise Architect, assess technologies fit with US Foods’ portfolio;
Lead technology POCs, define and execute a go to market approach in collaboration with projects and BRMs;
Provides technical expertise and leadership to develop integrated solutions spanning business processes, operating systems, applications and hardware platforms;
Work cross functionally (e.g. the Development, Architecture, BRM, etc.) to develop plans address US Foods technical debt and improve its processes;
Providing expertise and guidance in architecture, design and application of industry standards in the implementation of innovative US Foods applications;
Evaluate vendor solutions/approaches and make recommendations;
Collaborate across USF IT to define and socialize roadmaps;
Reviews and/or designs complex enterprise integration architectures for other US Foods IT teams and makes recommendations;
Provide thought leadership and mentorship to Solution Architects and Leads and ensure execution discipline and rigor;
Oversees quality and output of development team on project tasks;
Works and communicates effectively with all levels of management;
Contribute to the US Foods’ IT brand by presenting, leading technology forums or write articles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred.
Related Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in highly technical roles covering multiple areas is required.
Specialized Knowledge Needed for Performance of Job:
Deep hands-on knowledge of Application Development, Operation and support practices;
Deep hands-on knowledge of either web/cloud/web service-based technology, ESB or DevOps concepts;
Appropriate professional designation preferred;
Prior experience leading and mentoring application development teams;
Prior experience successfully designing and developing Java, JavaScript, Python or node application;
Prior experience designing and developing Cloud and on-prem applications in large scale, highly transaction or mission critical environments;
Prior knowledge of application containers and CI/CD concepts a plus.

The following information is provided in accordance with the Colorado Pay Equity Act. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $118,600 and $135,000. This role is also eligible for annual incentive plan bonus.
