The Role

Veeva is looking for Senior Java Engineers to develop our data platform for Life Sciences analytics. Our analytic platform is Java-based, utilizing multiple data pipelines, streaming, and ETL technologies to model data applications, and integrated reporting interfaces.

For this role, we need exceptional team players with strong Java skills, experience in large scale, multi-processor, distributed cluster data management, federated caching technologies (Arrow, Flight), streaming (Kafka), AWS big data technologies (S3, Glue, containerization), integrating with cloud-based applications, working with relational platforms like Amazon Redshift.

What You'll Do

• Designing and developing Java platform for scalable, turnkey multi-tenant solutions, utilizing microservices-based architecture
• Collaboration with platform peers (Metadata Management, Data Pipeline Services, Application Connectors, Data Warehouse Engineering, User Interface, Testing)
• Work with Ops teams to provision, scale, and tune solutions
• Integrating new technologies to support advanced analytic use cases
• Supporting customer issues and new opportunities from the field

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
• 5+ years of Java experience in big data-style applications
• Expert with Java data management technologies in clustered multi-processing environments
• Expert with services-oriented architectures and API development
• Experience with RDBMS data-centric experience (large scale RDBMS, Redshift, Teradata, Snowflake)
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Arrow, Hive)

Nice to have

• Extensive hands-on experience with modern Java frameworks, tools, and technologies (Spring, Reactive, Hibernate)
• AWS Services + Management (S3, Glue, Redshift, SQS, EMR, Auto-Scaling Groups, AMI, Terraform)
• Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience w/ large scale big data pipeline – ETL / Kafka / Spark / MapReduce
• Salesforce Integration
