What you’ll be doing...

The Associate Creative Director, Social supports the Director of Social to create breakthrough work in social channels and help bring the Verizon brand closer to culture. This includes but is not limited to: leading the development of the Verizon brand social voice and personality, providing creative direction to the social editorial team on content calendar creative work to help generate positive impressions of the Verizon brand within social channels, and driving conceptual ideation for both campaigns and content that spark interest and engagement.

• Create social content and campaigns that spark mass excitement and interest across various social networks following a creative brief.
• Create innovative concepts that amplify our strategy to make an impact with the consumer.
• Make creative, fun, and social-driven videos and graphics that people will like and share across our platforms, making Verizon a category leader in social.
• Partner with Social Media Marketing teams and agency partners on the development of social aspects of integrated campaigns and ensure social components align with overall campaigns.
• Be accountable for the final development and production of creative assets and ensure accuracy, attention to detail and meeting/exceeding the design and social media objectives.
• Drive the creation of conceptual ideas in brainstorm sessions or offline creative development.
• Drive the creation of social content for evergreen brand programs.
• Ensure that social media posts are optimized based on target audience’s behavior; use data to track market trends and customer actions to inform the creative work.
• Create and provide guidance on nuanced artwork and copy for campaigns which span multiple social channels.
• Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
• Provide creative quality control over social editorial content, concepts and execution.
• Provide brand guidance and direction to ensure consistent alignment with brand standards and brand voice.
• Possesses demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.

Where you'll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You have a strong, intuitive understanding of what drives interest and engagement in digital channels, are tapped into social and cultural trends, and have the strategic acumen to turn those instincts into a strong, compelling brand voice.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience as a social creative in-house, at an external agency or for a publication.
• Knowledge of social media best practices and narrative storytelling, in both static post and video content format.
• Knowledge of various social media channels, including Snapchat and TikTok.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's degree; preferably in Advertising, Design, English, Journalism or a related field.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to showcase a portfolio of relevant work samples.
• Ability to manage differing viewpoints so the final product remains true to the objective.
• Hands-on experience in either art direction or copywriting.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, able to articulate creative rationale that drives execution and tactics of a concept.
• The ability to mentor junior members of the team in the ideation process leveraging research, analytics and brand insights.
• Experience with encouraging a team to be strong brand advocates.
• Experience with encouraging new interpretations of brand standards and out-of-the-box approaches to grow brand voice / brand design to meet ever-expanding company needs.
• Experience working in industry-standard software and tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office / G Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Workfront.
• Ability to be persuasive and/or negotiate when selling in new ideas through the organization on behalf of the team.
