Director, Product Management, Wholesale

What you’ll be doing...
The Director of Wholesale leads teams fulfilling the complete product life-cycle process, encompassing concept and market placement visioning; monetization and pricing strategy; competitive analysis; technology integration; strategic vendor relations; vendor management; and, final development and deployment for the Verizon Business Group (VBG) Wholesale business unite, also known as Verizon Partner Solutions (VPS). Product and services available in this channel include, but are not limited to, managing the lifecycle product portfolio for Global Networks, Wireless Transport, Voice, Apps, and Platforms.
The successful candidate will need to understand the Wholesale channel and the complexities that come with selling to some of our largest competitors. Success will come from knowing how to optimize pricing, product availability, and channel opportunities within the limitations. The Director will also be responsible for expanding our offerings to include fit-for-segment, software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN), and Dark and Lit Fiber products to drive additional revenue over base connectivity.
The Director will work across the Product Delivery Organizations to help guide an investment of over $21M in 2020 to enable Global Enterprise to achieve a revenue plan of over $2.9B and generate significant incremental return over five years.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): ensure revenue growth to meet and exceed company expectations, manage capital and expenses to drive product profitability, and leverage pricing and promotional actions to drive sales and profitability
Life-cycle management: support and fulfill existing products; enhance products to lead the market; and, groom the product line, as required, driven by product success, company-wide strategy, and industry dynamics
Product vision and strategy: build and continuously iterate product vision and strategy to align with wider VBG product and services capabilities, as well as company-wide strategic direction and industry forces; build and prioritize resulting roadmap; work with related internal organizations – Sales, Strategy, Technology, Product, Legal and Regulatory, Finance, as well as with the industry to align, communicate and build roadmaps
Product development: guide Verizon technology organizations and partner to deliver new products and product enhancements to ensure market leading capabilities
Strategic and tactical vendor management: manage respective third party vendors to power the product
What we’re looking for...
B.S. with advanced degree and/or equivalent industry experience – a combination of engineering/technical and MBA education highly desired
10+ years of product management experience
Strong understanding and knowledge of Wholesale services; deep understanding of the competitive marketplace for Wholesale globally
Proven track record of launching business products/capabilities in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to drive, lead, and influence cross-functional teams
Strong strategic perspective and customer focus
Experience managing across multiple technology partners
Outstanding financial acumen, with a balanced blend of business and technical savvy
Excellent communication and presentations skills, with demonstrated experience communicating to senior leadership stakeholders
