What you’ll be doing...

The Network Repair Bureau (NRB) Automation team builds creative and complex automation solutions, utilizing advanced coding, towards the NRB process of resolving Verizon Wireless network related customer issues efficiently. The creation of complex solutions relies on partnering with cross function organizations, performing data analytics, building architecture and frameworks, designing user interface and setting up Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data aggregation. This position is responsible for multiple automation projects that are scheduled and on demand solution utilized by the NRB.

• Identify deficiencies and quickly develop a solution in a DevOps manner to add operational efficiencies in the network and help improve overall reliability; resulting in a better experience for our customers.
• Onboarding new concepts, building framework and end to end development to include testing through production.
• Responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of the automated processes and will be the subject matter expert with a strong focus on automation to eliminate manual processes.
• Work closely with Maintenance Engineering, Planning, and data application owners to accomplish these goals and help drive new functionality as the business evolves.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
• Four or more years of relevant work experience
• Experience in one or more scripting languages (Python, PHP, HTML, Javascript).
• Experience with Automation.
• Experience with API data aggregation.
• Experience with Linux systems in an enterprise production environment.

Even better if you have:

• A degree in Computer Science.
• Openstack certified.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, load balancing, firewalls, HTTP, SSL, DNS, DHCP.
• Java script proficient.
• Experience working with Edge AI and VMB.
• Web development.
• Experience with Gitlab.
• Experience with VM structure.
• Familiar with Dockers and Containers.
• Ability to support large scale environments within Kubernetes.
• Ability to quickly analyze situations, identify problems, and provide solutions.
• Ability to lead and drive projects to completion.
• Ability to think on their own and have the ability to make decisions in the best interest of the business with no supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
