Principal Solutions Architect

What you’ll be doing...
This position has design and architecture level responsibility over a complex, multi-data center, virtual private cloud environment. You will have deep hands-on enterprise experience with hyper-converged hardware, VMware virtualization, Software Defined Networks and EMC Storage.
Presentation of detailed design documents, understanding of network and compute hardware and software overlays and the role they play in application lifecycle.
Understanding of software-defined datacenter solutions to include areas of expertise in, virtualization, storage, security and network.
Validating the technical requirements of the associated architecture to meet customer needs and requirements.
Serve as liaison with internal and external suppliers to understand how certain solutions can be incorporated.
Work in collaboration with the other departments to develop proposals and high-level data center design
Serve as an escalation point for mission critical incidents and changes.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience the vROPs, vRNI and Log insight
Experience with vRA/vRO.
Knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and troubleshooting in an Enterprise environment.
Experience with various versions of Windows, RHEL and CentOS.
Experience with technical documentation creation.
Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
Ability to upgrade and support EMC Enterprise storage; including VMAX, VPLEX, VNX, Isilon and SRDF.
Ability to upgrade and support multi switch fabrics; including Cisco MDS, Cisco Director and Brocade.
Advanced degree in Technology or Engineering.
Automation and configuration management experience.
Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to influence, lead and mentor.
Possess a sense of urgency with complete follow-through – personal accountability.
Highly motivated self-starter that is able to work independently or as a member of a team.
Ability to work effectively in a self-directed team with minimal oversight/guidance.
