What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Consulanta5G RF Engineer (outdoor) is the premier RF engineering resource for Wireless Professional Service responsible for designing private LTE/5G and in-building systems using different OEM equipment based on the technology needs and application requirements. In this role you will be responsible for the design, level of effort scoping, pricing, and management of partner selection. You’ll evaluate and design cost effective solutions and work closely with the construction engineers and the implementation team to execute them in a timely manner. You’ll accept individual ownership of critical issues, creatively thinking through to develop resolutions. You’ll define and develop processes in order to make deployments cost efficient. You’ll interact professionally with customers as well as internal stakeholders including sales, solutions architects, product, finance, legal, etc. You’ll perform site walks as necessary to gather all the details with project stake holders to successfully implement a project in a timely and cost effective fashion. You’ll create iBwave designs in-house and in collaboration with key partners. You’ll develop trusted technical advisor relationships with internal organizations.

The Senior 5G Cellular Consultant will use the compelling assets of Verizon to provide consultation and support the delivery of 5G Network products and services including:

• Private LTE Networks
• Private 5G NSA Networks
• Private 5G SA Networks
• In Building DAS Solutions
• Current and future Cellular Network technology

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Fouror more years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to understand, compile, evaluate, and present complex data and solutions to executives and senior leadership.
• Knowledge of LAA, CBRS and 5G architecture in enterprise deployment scenarios.
• Knowledge of propagation and optimization modeling tools such as Atoll, GeoPlan, and iBwave.
• Knowledge of Ericsson/Nokia/Samsung systems including OSS.
• Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

• 6+ years of technical experience and increasing responsibility (team lead, mentoring, and technical lead for large, multi-technology deployments).
• Knowledge of Private LTE/network architecture.
• Does not require direct supervision; able to take high level direction and proactively move a project or internal initiative from start to finish with minimal assistance.
• 5G/4G Call Processing experience with knowledge of protocols and new and existing features.
• Demonstrated expertise in correlating business drivers and needs (financial drivers, impacts, and restrictions) into technical solutions, on proposed solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and interest in, emerging technologies such as IoT, SDN, NFV, etc.
• Experience with any of the following: cellular WAN technologies and solutions, WAN optimization, Wireless LAN, datacenter technologies (load balancers, datacenter switching, etc.), virtualization technologies and concepts (Hypervisors, orchestration, software defined datacenter, NFV, etc.), security appliances and concepts (firewalls, IPS/IDS, identity management, access controls, etc.).
• Knowledge of CAT5/CAT6 based systems like Ericsson DOT and Spidercloud.
• Working knowledge of at least one data collection tool such as Datapro, TEMS Symphony, or similar.
• Certifications and/or significant exposure in other technical areas such as MCSE, CEH, security, UC, etc.
• Understanding of 3GPP Specifications for 5G/LTE, specifically Rel-15/16.
• Even better if you have iBwave certification and knowledge of major DAS systems like Commscope, Mobile Access, Solid and or JMA.
