What you’ll be doing...

This role lies within the Verizon Australia Identity and Access Management (IAM) Operations division and is based in Canberra. Reporting to the IAM Operations Regional Manager, you will be working as part of a highly skilled team responsible for the support, design and operation of a suite of Identity and Access Management (IAM) products and services. The Australian team is part of a larger global remit and is responsible for the implementation of large, high-visibility IAM infrastructure projects within Australia and the support of solutions implemented globally.

This role is focused on the engineering support and design of IAM systems and involves:

• Working within a broad technology portfolio and skillset; virtualization, custom software, 3rd party solutions, open source products and networking.
• Providing solutions engineering to both Federal Government and Commercial customers within Australia and throughout the world
• Applying security best practice across a predominately Microsoft Windows environment but with significant Linux exposure as well.
• Administrating PKI Certification Authorities globally and regionally
• Maintaining systems to ensure stability and performance
• Contributing to changes / improvements in global and regional infrastructure
• Creating, maintaining and improving documentation
• Supporting projects as required i.e. technical, sales-oriented or administrative
• Sharing knowledge/experience with others
• Troubleshooting incidents and problems

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

We are looking for a skilled and intelligent system/security engineer willing to apply their skills to IAM security solutions.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience of working with Windows operating systems
• Experience of Networking Fundamentals: CCNA Routing & Switching level.
• Experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi & vCenter)
• Knowledge of security best practice.
• NV1 Security clearance or above and eligibility to maintain.
• Willingness to work in an on-call work environment.

Even better if you have one or more of the following**:**

• Experience with public key infrastructure (PKI).
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong verbal skills and experience interacting with stakeholders and customers
• Strong writing skills; must be able to clearly articulate and document concepts, issues and systems
• Ability to plan and deliver autonomously and also as part of a team
• An interest in IT security and a willingness to learn IAM and PKI (Public key infrastructure)
• Intermediate-level Linux capabilities (Centos/RHEL)
• Understanding of basic programming and scripting, YAML, Ansible
• Understanding of enterprise authentication and web security
• Familiarity with IRAP, ISO27001, ACSC ISM and ITIL
