Battery Management System (BMS) Validation Engineer leads BMS controls validation definition, execution, and results reviews.  The position requires a highly motivated engineer with the ability to participate collaboratively within a project team as well as develop technical solutions independently, execute test procedures and deliver comprehensive reports.

*For qualified candidates, locations outside of Erie may be considered but will require periodic travel to Erie.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Battery Management System (BMS) Validation Engineer will define and execute unit level (in model environment), and overall controls HitL, pack, and vehicle level validation plans.  You will prepare test result review material and reports, conduct peer and formal test result reviews.  Investigate battery & BMS factory & field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction.  Log and track defects utilizing formal software life cycle management tools and provide factory and field support investigating anomalies on high voltage/high horsepower lithium-ion based systems (locomotives).

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software engineering, or computer science

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with BMS or Embedded Controls validation utilizing the following platforms: HitL, SitL, system level (locomotive)

  • Experience in Requirements Management tools (e.g., DOORS)
