Role Summary/Purpose

The Cloud DevOps engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the cloud infrastructure for our custom developed solutions. The Engineer will work closely with the infra architect, Development Team and Operations manager to build, manage and automate the cloud infrastructure. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code, provide optimal solutions for containerization and orchestration through tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS. Work on AWS based services like EC2, S3, EKS, Fargate, EFS.
  • Provision, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure defined as code.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux/windows-based systems
  • Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of cloud infrastructure and systems
  • Must have experience with CI/CD implementation processes.
  • Must have experience with infrastructure as code concepts and tools and strong experience with configuration management tools like Terraform
  • Strong experience with scripting / programming languages such as: JavaScript, Java/Scala, PHP, Ruby, Python).
  • Participate in release coordination and communication to stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CloudFront, S3, AWS Gateways).

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in building DevOps CI / CD pipelines

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with Linux OS and shell scripting.

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Jenkins and deploying applications on AWS.

  • Familiarity with Infra-As-a-Code like Terraform scripts.

  • Familiarity with platforms like Spring Boot/Red hat fuse/OpenShift will be an added advantage.

  • Desired Characteristics

  • Prior Experience in DevOps & Cloud infrastructures management

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with proven experience to design / develop solutions in a matrix / global environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • High energy, Customer Passion & attention to details

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability

  • Ability to explore open source libraries, eager to learn new technologies.

  • Strong desire to experiment, use new tools and techniques

  • Experience with multi-threaded, concurrent systems 

  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and having the ability to navigate ambiguous situations
