Role Summary/Purpose

The Business Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. He/she will drive critical KPIs in safety, quality and delivery for a large and diverse section of our Locomotive facility. In this role you will integrate and develop manufacturing processes that meet business needs, manage complex and personnel issues, be involved in short and long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans to ensure the team meets schedule commitments and ensure production flow
• Analyze production labor requirements, implementing appropriate capacity decisions within the department's budget
• Drive key initiatives including EHS, Six Sigma, shop productivity, lean, and inventory cycle reductions
• Champion site teaming culture, drive employee contribution and accountability
• This role will lead both exempt and direct/HRLY paid team members – he/she will demonstrate leadership in problem resolution, resource utilization and career counseling

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing experience with increasing responsibility

Desired Characteristics

• Previous experience with heavy equipment manufacturing, electrical assembly, welding and/or fabrication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Inclusive leader able to work in a cross-functional environment and engage functional stakeholders including HR, Finance and EHS
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify critical issues and identify the root cause of complex issues
• Strong propensity for excelling in a demanding environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
