Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale. This position will be working hands-on within an AWS Cloud technical domain. You will work within a multi-cloud infrastructure environment on highly complex projects, as a key member of the Platform team across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Triage, validate, prioritize, and remediate found vulnerabilities based on severity of vulnerabilities according to Wabtec Cyber and industry standards
  • Ensure the security and compliance of our AWS environment by partnering with Cyber and application teams to resolve identified findings
  • Be a trusted advisor to stakeholders who may need explanation and consultation regarding details around vulnerabilities, prioritization, and remediation plans
  • Develop reactive and preventive reporting capabilities to ensure visibility of vulnerabilities across the AWS estate
  • Design and build AWS infrastructure for our organization, including implementing and managing resources such as EC2, RDS, and S3
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in AWS and cloud computing
  • Demonstrate high level of troubleshooting skills to lead/participate in major incident and problem management activities to ensure customer SLAs are met.
  • Participate in the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry, and market trends to assist in operational support
  • Stays up to date with current vulnerabilities related news
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications_:_ (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or "STEM" majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Enterprise scale engineering or relevant discipline

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions focusing on IaaS, business continuity, disaster recovery, security, operations excellence, and standardization
  • Familiarity with security and compliance best practices in the cloud
  • Broad hands-on experience across AWS services, with deeper expertise in the following areas/services:
    • IAM administration and policy writing (with a strong understanding of The Principle of Least Privilege)
    • AWS Organizations for a large multi-account corporate environment
    • Managing guardrails for AWS Organization Units with SCP
    • Strong understanding of VPC network concepts such as subnets, routing, name services, security groups, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), configuration management (Chef or Ansible) version control systems (Git), and CICD pipelines (GitLab) for full lifecycle management of AWS infrastructure & guardrails.
  • One or more of the following languages: HCL, JSON, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash, Node.js
  • Knowledge of PaC (OPA/Rego) is a plus
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Applies values, business strategy, policies, precedent, and experience to make complex decisions with uncertain consequences
  • Challenges conventional thinking and traditional ways of operating and invites stakeholders to identify issues and opportunities
