Mission
Develop the business and grow top/bottom line results for Wabtec Transit Safety Systems Product Line (event recorders, speed sensors & speed indicators) in India.
Goal of the job
Sales responsible for (part of) India for the Safety Systems portfolio including Event Recorder, Speed Sensors and all other innovations of the Product Line. Ensure design-in on railway rolling stock platforms. Define market needs for the products and create platform for successful sales activities. Work with other domestic Wabtec entities in such a way that the company’s growth goals are achieved.
Key tasks
In light of the above key tasks and the need to frequently visit clients the candidate should be willing to travel frequently, approx. 60%.
As content of tasks may evolve over time depending on customers’ expectations, the position requires open and flexible attitude to adjust to business requirements.
Specifics
1. Sales
Maintain contact and strengthen relationship with existing customers.
Find new customers and create new business.
Technical advice customers on components and system selection, ensure platform design-in
Makes quotations and handle orders. Close deals / negotiate with (key) customers.
Organize local technical support from company as required by customers.
Manage accounts and align in close collaboration with other Wabtec entities.
Makes budget proposals and realizes approved plans, sales budgets and margins.
2. Marketing
Investigate markets, detect trends and specific market/customer needs.
Analyze competitors and follow their performance.
Advice marketing strategies per area covered and coordinate activity like exhibitions, seminars, product promotions, …
Takes initiative to start sales promotion.
