Designs functional and reliable products or systems in a timely manner and within cost targets.


Production Engineering Manager



  • Plans and organizes design work as assigned by the Project Leader
  • Uses CAD systems to layout, design and produce drawings for new equipment.
  • Monitors individual design schedule to ensure completion as determined by Project Leader.
  • Creates designs within pre-defined cost targets.


  • Advise Project Leader on a regular basis as to the status of the design. 
  • Creates and maintains bills of materials and writes engineering change orders.
  • Interfaces with others during the design, building and field-testing of prototypes or production models.
  • Meets requirements on function, reliability, safety and performance of equipment operation.


  • Troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
  • Mechanical aptitude to physically work on machinery.



  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.


  • 3 years in industry related field.
  • Mechanical aptitude to physically work on machinery.
  • Railroad industry preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in Cad, Creo and PTC Windchill preferred

Behavioral Attributes

  • Results driven.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.


  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.


Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted. Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to talk and hear. Normal correctable vision is required.
