The Base Engine Component, Factory Support, Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the design, reducing cost and improving reliability of exhaust manifold assemblies, coalescer systems and mufflers used on internal combustion engines via new product development projects, alternate source development projects, and/or changes to manufacturing processes. In addition, the qualified candidate will provide manufacturing support and assembly in both Wabtec Grove City, PA engine facilities (GRV and GRR). The position will be located at GRV.
What will be your key responsibilities?
The Base Engine Component, Factory Support, Reliability Engineer will provide engineering and technical guidance for factory issues related to the manufacture, assembly, and test of exhaust manifold assemblies, coalescer systems and mufflers. Support the life cycle cost team in developing repair and unit-exchange technologies that reduce scrap and increase productivity. Lead reliability improvement projects related to exhaust manifold assemblies, coalescer systems and mufflers. Evaluate non-conforming material for usage, repair, or scrap in a timely manner to minimize impact to Grove City manufacturing.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
Experience in reciprocating engine development.
Experience in execution of reliability improvement projects for components used in heavy industry, specifically off-road applications (locomotive, mining, etc.) involving root cause analysis, verification and validation of solutions
