Role Summary Purpose

• The primary function of this role will be to represent the organization as the prime technical contact for the SIM software architectural aspect. Provide technical leadership to Simulation and modelling team for the simulator platforms like Virtual Simulator and hardware in test loop (HITL) for locomotive.  Grow the Automation infra and add machine learning.  Responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term strategic business impact.   In addition to above he/she needs to assist/support simulator setup development as required with following functional responsibilities.

Functional Responsibility

• Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex architectural changes within SIM platform. Upgrade OS and Realtime platform for the simulation H/W

• Own and drive common architectectural design for Vsim, Slim SIM and HITL platform

• Work on architecting sim software design for remote capability and automation infrastructure. Leverage machine learning and analytics for optimization.

• Maintain the configuration control for sim platforms and drive common software deployment.

• Design and develop next generation virtual simulation for locomotive product leveraging VMware/VirtualBox/QNX

• Develop Graphical User Interface

• Developing and maintaining a configuration control system for dynamic system models

• Be capable of participating as full sim team member including updating/building/reviewing MatLab models and C/C++ code

• Show skill in confronting circumstances which are impeding technical progress

• Communicate technical direction and progress to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

• Work with stakeholders to define solutions and interacts with senior external personnel

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

Essential Requirement

• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science/ Electrical/Electronics

• Minimum of 8-14 years work experience with real time embedded systems.

• Experience in VMware/VirtualBox/QNX

• Hands on experience in C and C++ .  developing HMI using QT

• Experience with Github/Gitlab

• Experience with device driver and BSP level development

• Software release management

• Software/system architecture design

• Database experience

• Minimum 2-4 year experience in dynamic System Modeling in Matlab/Simulink.

• Sound understanding of Real Time Operating System like RT-LINUX/UNIX/QNX based systems.

• Experience in developing automated scripts using Perl/python.

• Understanding of Communication Protocol like ARCNET/CAN/RS-232/Ethernet.

• Working knowledge of both software and electrical hardware design techniques, including the ability to read/understand schematics

  Desired 

• Web development experience

• Experience with Xilinx UltraScale MPSoC systems

• Data Distribution Service (DDS) experience

• Linux hypervisors

• Experience with Open vSwitch or similar virtual networking

• Minimum of 2 year of experience working with  Virtual Simulation or hardware in the loop simulators and modeling software.

• Develop DAQ System using COTS like NI/OPAL-RT/ETAS

• GUI programming using LabVIEW.

• Trouble Shooting of VME/PCI based UNIXRT-/LINUX Industrial Graded systems.
