Engineering Technical Leader - Locomotive Bogie/Truck Engineering will play a key role of owning the technical responsibility of Locomotive Bogie sub system design and development by demonstrating technical depth and execution excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interdependently lead the design and development of Bogie subsystem for locomotives following robust Engineering design and development process.

• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and Wabtec specifications.

• Proactively work with Leadership to shape technology roadmap for the team.

• Act as a mentor for less experienced members in global team setup.

• Must lead multiple complex projects by adhering to Wabtec processes while meeting business standards and program / product requirements.

• Influence the technical direction for Truck/ Bogie sub-system to maximize the business impact.

• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated and utilize same for training and effort optimization.

• Represent the team /business in technical matters to customers, regulatory agencies, consultants, cross functional teams.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelors /master's degree in mechanical / structural /Automotive Engineering with 12 -15 years of engineering design and development experience.

Desired Characteristics

• Deep technical understanding and competency in locomotive/ heavy vehicle chassis structural component design and related tools like FEA, Dynamics etc.

• Proven record of Engineering Design, manufacturing and reliability in areas welded structures / FEA etc.

• Must have experience with heavy / light fabricated & cast structures, suspension components design & evaluation.

• Good understanding of rail standards such as AAR, EN, RGS, UIC, APTA, GOST etc.

• Must have exceptional interpersonal Skills to interface effectively with cross functional teams.

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong technical leadership skills. Ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills.
