Position Summary:
Full Time Position. Responsibility to lead the Business Financial Accounting activities. To deliver accurate and timely financial information and establish and maintain a robust control environment to ensure full auditability of financial data. To establish a culture of continuous improvement with a team of professionals responsible for delivering monthly financial accounts, annual statutory accounts and the management external audit activities for the Operating Unit.
Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:
Develop systems to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Operating Unit financial ledgers and accounting processes
Responsible for managing the monthly financial close process to ensure that financial information is supplied to the organisation in a timely and effective manner
Develop systems to ensure the efficient and effective management of financial data for the preparation of financial accounts
Responsible for the month end management accounts submission into HFM
Maintaining the financial ledgers of the operating unit to support the month end reporting process and ensure all accounts reconciled and reviewed
Coordinate and support the Shared Service Team for month end and reporting activities
Assistance with the annual Budget and STRAP activities and monthly Forecast
Monthly Reporting Pack to analyse and review variances actuals vs budget/forecast
Ensure that spend vs budget is communicated to budget holders monthly
Meet all internal and external reporting requirements within the given deadlines including statutory accounts, VAT returns, National Statistics and other reporting returns, Ensuring all submissions are adequately reviewed prior to submission
Manage the completion of the Annual Taxation reports for the Operating Unit
Act as main point of contact for the audit and coordinate all audit information requirements
Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and the relevant statutory accounting standards (UK & US GAAP)
Establish and implement a control environment to underpin the accuracy of the UK financial reporting ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Manage the Operating Units Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements
Standardise, rationalise and document the financial processes to achieve synergies in the finance department
Manage the chart of accounts and the cost centre structure of the Business
Manage the Payroll interfaces between HR and ADP (Payroll provider) and ensure all payments are in line with statutory requirements
Perform other duties within your capability, training or experience that may be reasonably requested
Adhere to the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements
Responsible for Handling and Storage of Data in line with Data Protection legislation

Qualifications/Education required:
Qualified by experience – Essential
Part Qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - Desirable
