Global Freight Services: Regional Service Leader – SEA & Korea

The Regional Service Leader will be responsible for Freight Service Operations across SEA & Korea. This role will lead all business across the region and is responsible for P&L management, leading business strategy and execution of service operations. He or she will develop and execute strategy to drive sales and profit growth, demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, be responsible for contract management, customer relations, and developing and implementing processes that meet business needs across the region.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure execution rigor to deliver on Wabtec’s obligations while meeting or exceeding customer expectations

  • Ensure operational excellence and adherence to Wabtec best-practices across various cultures and environments

  • Develop growth strategies for Maintenance Service Agreements (MSA), Parts Sales, Modernization Programs, Collision Repair, and Overhaul lines of business

  • Develop internal operating plans annually and execute to deliver financial performance to meet or exceed targets

  • Collaborate with cross-functional counterparts to explore and develop opportunities for new lines of business

  • Act as a primary escalation contact to customers and resolves issues with external and internal stakeholders.

  • Support the negotiation, and implementation of Service Agreements.

  • Ensure strict compliance to regional laws and regulations.

  • Leverage opportunities in Productivity to drive Purchased Labor and Material, Variable and Base Cost efficiencies

  • Lead and report on short and long-term business planning (I.e. Operational Plans, Strategic plans, Budget plans, Regional reporting

  • Drive talent hiring, performance setting and employee engagement initiatives with special focus on open reporting to strive for a culture of high integrity in our dealings with suppliers, customers, and other internal stakeholders.  Develop team and improve diversity across the organization

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Relevant degree such as Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree, and minimum 8 years related work experience.

• At least 5 years’ experience in P&L management and leading teams

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience dealing with multi-cultural business and governments

• Ability to communicate with Senior Executive Management, all staff levels, overseas colleagues, as well as customers and suppliers.

• Good command of spoken and written English

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time

Desired Qualifications / Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or Technology
  • Rail or Transportation industry experience
  • Experience dealing with government customers in APAC region
  • Ability to interact with cross-functional teams and influence positive change
  • Strong presentation development, delivery and influencing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
