The Lead Engine Performance Engineer will be responsible for delivering emissions, fuel consumption and performance requirements to:

• Existing products going through the factory
• New Product Introductions
• Modifications/tailoring of existing products for new applications/markets (North America and Global)
• Reliability and service productivity programs

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• Minimum of 5 years engine experience

• Knowledge of combustion and emissions systems

• Understanding of the influence of critical sub-systems such as Fuel Systems, Engine Controls, and Air Handling Systems on Engine Performance and Emissions Control

What will be your key responsibilities?

The role will have a heavy focus on supporting Marine and Stationary application engines as well as our latest Tier4 Technology Locomotive platform.  The position requires testing and analyzing data using modeling, analytical and statistical tools, and working with cross functional teams such as Engine Controls, Fuel Systems, Engine Cooling/Mechanical/Turbo and Systems teams to meet emissions and fuel consumption requirements while developing/delivering a feasible concept and product.

In addition, as newer technologies are being developed in the Hydrogen, Electrification/Hybridization and Additives market, the engineer will work closely with the advanced engineering team on solutions to strengthen our position in the industry.   Collaboration with our Program Management and Commercial teams will be essential to ensure business success.
