Role Summary/Purpose:
The MCA controls & applications engineer is responsible for design, development, and testing of control functions spanning across all locomotive subsystems with controls content. This position provides a unique opportunity to interact with all locomotive subsystems with controls content, and thus quickly gain a broad understanding of locomotive control and operation. The successful Lead Applications Engineer will efficiently execute the design, development, and test processes, while managing tradeoffs with respect to project priorities.

Strong organizational skills and prior success in working with or leading cross-functional teams
Ability to prioritize and manage tradeoffs effectively with a small team to meet overall objectives
Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders, solve problems, and deliver results
Effective verbal & written communicator
5+ years experience with Matlab / Simulink
3+ years experience with use of SysML for system requirements, architecture, and V&V modeling
Experience with design & validation of electro-mechanical systems, especially locomotive and/or off-highway vehicles and auxiliary systems
Working knowledge of Wabtec locomotives & control system functionality
