The Lead Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for the propulsion system architecture for the next generation of battery-electric locomotives.  The engineer will provide high-voltage solutions that meet the locomotive performance requirements and promote competitive differentiation.  The engineer will develop system models, decompose requirements for the subsystems, manage critical interfaces, and guide the broader team through the execution of the design.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering position

• Experience in electrical power conversion

What will be your key responsibilities?

In this role the engineer will serve as a recognized leader in defining solutions in electric propulsion systems for new locomotive products.  Create and exercise models to identify opportunities and drive design changes that improve overall system efficiency; ultimately leading to higher vehicle performance and improved efficiency.  Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near-term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact.  Translate customer needs through clearly articulated requirements and decompose these requirements for subsystem design execution.
