1. PRIMARY PURPOSE  

Supports Maintenance Technician as needed and performs specifically assigned tasks.    

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment 

  • Uses common electrical diagnostic equipment to perform preventative maintenance 

  • Troubleshoots and makes minor repairs to manufacturing equipment 

  • Operates metal forming components such as torches, MIG welders, grinders and drills 

  • Operates fork lifts, rigging equipment, man lifts, articulating lifts, ladders. 

  • Operates CMMS system and other common computer systems to document repairs, PM’s, communicate information between shifts, and to enter purchase requisitions. 

  • Installs and relocates storage racking, shelving, shadow boards, etc.… 

  • Demonstrates safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. 

  • Maintains a safe, Clean and orderly work area. 

  • Under direction of the Maintenance Technician: 

  • Installation of new and relocated equipment, electrical power, plumbing, and pneumatics as required. 

  • Repair equipment or replace machine components such as pumps, cylinders, motors, valves, switches, PLC’s, Actuators, and safety devises. 

  • Install conduit, wiring, and associated electrical connections. 

3. OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE   

  • Associate degree in maintenance technology or related field with emphasis in electrical principals. 

  • A thorough understanding of NEC preferred.   

  • Experience working with 480V 3 phase systems preferred. 

  • Experience working with hydraulics preferred.  

  • Experience with machine repair and diagnostics preferred. 

  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings preferred. 

  • Ability to use oxygen/acetylene torch and MIG weld preferred. 

  • Preventative maintenance experience preferred. 

  • Must have analytical and troubleshooting skills.   

  • Must be able to utilize various tools to measure, diagnose, and repair equipment. 

5. OTHER SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Good verbal communication skills. 

  • Must be able to work independently and with a team. 

  • Computer literate. 

  • Must be able to accomplish tasks in a designated timely manner. 

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and work orders. 

  • If required to operate a fork truck, must be “certified” and have successfully completed formal training. 

  • Overtime may be required and employees are expected to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate this need.  

  • Given the nature of this position and the effects it has on production and manufacturing, individuals, must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends on short notice.
