Job Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of internal customer requirements. Planning with respect to material, processes and logistics lead time.
  • Developing the network & managing the supply chain, ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Tracking of the Purchase orders and sending expediters at appropriate intervals for ensuring the receipt of material well in time.
  • Monitoring availability of stock, making appropriate arrangements for regular consumables and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Developing long-term partnerships with local suppliers; managing daily supplier performance to ensure meeting of service, cost delivery and quality norms.
  • Consistently evaluating vendor performance to ensure adherence to predefined specifications and supply of quality material/execution of job works.
  • Resolving techno-commercial disputes with vendors, ensuring on time payments.
  • Timely development of new components/items or development of alternate sources for existing components/items within the specified quality, cost and delivery parameters.

     Required skills:

  • Proper knowledge of various manufacturing processes e.g. machining, fabrication, casting, forging etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of pan India vendor base
  • Vendor evaluation, selection, on-boarding and periodic performance evaluation system
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent team player.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Educational qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute/institution.
  • Post graduate qualifications in material management preferred.
  • Around 12-15 years of experience in supply chain management with reputed companies.
