Who will you be working with?

As the Managing Director of Wabtec SA, you will collaborate with various stakeholders including internal teams such as Product lines, BU headquarters, Global functions, and external parties such as customers, partners, and suppliers. Your role involves leading the site management team, fostering a high-performance organization, and engaging with regional and global leadership to drive the One Wabtec strategy in the region.

Your strategic mindset will set the business vision and direction, guiding the development and implementation of effective business strategies. By overseeing project execution, sales, profitability, and cash flow, you will contribute to the achievement of set targets and the overall success of Wabtec. Your leadership qualities, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities will drive accountability, efficiency, and innovation.

What do we want to know about you?

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • at least Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial and/or Engineering

  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Project Management

  • over 10 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 8 years in Operations Management

  • experience managing a P&L, responsible for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Engineering and Supply Chain functions.

Your deep knowledge of business functions, exceptional analytical skills, and financial acumen are crucial.

Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams are key attributes.

What will your typical day look like?

Your typical day involves leading the site management team, developing annual operating and financial budgets, and ensuring alignment with Wabtec's global product lines and functions. You will guide the team in developing strategies and actions to deliver on the operating plan, overseeing cross-functional execution, and making key strategic decisions. Monitoring site performance, ensuring compliance with standards, and managing long-term projects like the PRASA brake system contract will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will drive culture transformation, talent development, and performance management to foster a high-performance organization.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
