Key activities may include:
- Lead and ensure compliance of EHS & Quality requirements in accordance with Wabtec policy and procedures for team members, other Wabtec staff, suppliers, contractors, and visitors.
- Lead and manage service delivery activities to ensure the achievement of KPI’s included but no limited to Safety, Quality, Productivity, Efficiency, and Cost.
- Lead and/or co-develop effective plans for production, programs, capacity, materials, and delivery as well as other resources or objectives to meet business goals and customer requirements.
- Forecast sales and maintain backlog in accordance with business goals and customer commitments.
- Prepare & submit quotations, variations and WIP reports for customers as required.
- Ensure stores activities are carried out in accordance with work instructions, business processes, EHS and quality requirements.
- Engage with other Operations team members as well as business support functions such EHS, Quality and Engineering for support in resolving risks and issues that can or have impacted Service Delivery.
- Facilitate and/or participate in visual board, forecast, planning and customer meetings as well as responsible for taking and completion of actions that arise.
- Promote and lead by example with continuous improvement, lean and 5S initiatives.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers for production and facility requirements.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customer contacts.
- Resolve issues and negotiate favourable outcomes in a professional manner.
- Manage the performance of team members through coaching and feedback as well as identifying opportunities to develop and train staff to maintain a positive workplace culture and optimize capability within the team.
- Take ownership of responsibilities and actively contribute towards the achievement of business performance goals, delivery timeframes and customer satisfaction.
- Willing to work outside or beyond normal hours to support business requirements.
- Domestic or International travel may be required.
- Perform other related duties as required to support business requirements.
Essential Experience
- Certificate 3 in Business Administration or higher or;
- Five years or more related experience within a manufacturing or services environment.
- Significant leadership experience, driving a high performing accountable workforce.
- Effective organisational, time management, multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
- Current Driver’s license.
Desirable Experience
- Formal planning, projects or management qualification.
- Previous experience with rollingstock components in a manufacturing or services environment within the rail industry.
- An understanding of the rail industry framework & related issues that arise.
- Demonstrable application of LEAN methodologies within a warehouse environment.
- Currently Hold/Willing to obtain - First Aid, Fire Warden.
