Job Description:

TITLE:  Motor Painter

DEPARTMENT:  601

REPORTS TO:  Team Leader

EXEMPT:  No SALARY LEVEL:  Hourly

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 The painter will be responsible for the taping, painting and polishing of electric motors to prepare motor for final shipment.  Must be clean shaven for respirator fit.

Prepping of parts (taping, scuffing to make sure paint adheres to part). Proper use, cleaning and maintenance of spray gun. Knowledge of proper ratios to mix paint. Maintain safety paint log. Maintaining of filters for Volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Properly trained with hoist and safe lifting practices. Ensure paint and supporting materials are stocked.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.  High school diploma or equivalent course work in skilled crafts or trades training.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to use mechanical tools, hand tools, electrical test equipment, measuring instruments, and be able to read blueprints. Must have braze or soldering experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employee must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand (majority of time), reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk. Employee must be clean shaven in order to wear respirator.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level is normal for a factory environment. The employee is working in a well-lit environment.

Abide by and conform to all company rules and policies. Follow all safety directives and work in a safe manner. Maintain good housekeeping standards around the workstation. Know, understand, and follow quality procedures. Accurately document your work as required by company procedures.
