ANNAX, part of Wabtec Corporation, provides passenger information systems for long- and short distance trains, trams, and subways. ANNAX develops turnkey solutions including features like public and automatic announcements, travel information, infotainment, passenger emergency calls, video surveillance, operator and conductor control interfaces, seat reservation, passenger counting and fleet management. ANNAX has sites in Germany, Switzerland, and China, but our passenger information systems can be found all over the world. 

To support our Team in Brunnthal-Munich, we are looking for a Process Engineer (m/f/d).

As Process Engineer you will manage detailed industrial planning, monitor recurring and operations non-recurring costs in respect to the project budget. You will manage the process changes and represent the operation department inside the project.

Principle Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Define the Total Manufacturing Costs of the products, for external purchases in collaboration with the purchasing department
  • Participate in the definition of the industrial budget in tender phase (Total Manufacturing Costs, tooling, testing equipment, non-recurring costs)
  • Coordinate the Operation’s activities for the projects (Methods, Production, Supply Chain)
  • Define the optimal industrial strategy (Wabtec manufacturing footprint, make or buy, production flow….) as well as the manufacturing processes, work & test instructions for every workstation
  • Secure the right alignment of industrial planning with the project planning
  • Ensure the availability of the production equipment, test equipment, and manufacturing BOM to be entered in the ERP in line with the project schedule.
  • Comply with the project budget (TMC, investments, NRC) and make kaizen proposals proactively to reduce production costs
  • Follow a zero defect/zero accident approach during the manufacturing process definition with a strong focus on special processes
  • Support the Production department in the manufacturing of the prototypes and pre-serial products and work with Project to make the needed product/process evolutions
  • Define Design for Manufacturing Rules together with R&D department
  • Work with Production and Methods to improve production setup in terms of efficiency, quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, automation or electrical engineering
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role in project-based manufacturing
  • Expertise in design for manufacturing, design to cost, lean methodology, kaizen
  • Fluent German and English language skills
