This position is responsible for sourcing and maintaining raw materials, finished goods, equipment, and supplies. Develops and meets goals for cost management, supplier management including supplier diversity, and process improvements. Coordination of efforts among all levels of personnel including but not limited to sales, quality, engineering, and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in any particular order)
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on capabilities, price, quality, and delivery performance
- Prepare RFQ/RFP that provides high quality products that meets Wabtec specifications continually
- Prepares purchase orders and reviews requisitions for goods and services ensuring conformance within company policy
- Reviews and acts promptly on purchasing/sourcing related activity reports (expediting & payables)
- Track and report sourcing savings activities
- Support Global and Strategic Sourcing initiatives with key suppliers
- Maintain close contact with production planner, quality, customer service and engineering to maintain the most effective inventory control
- Coordinates supplier notification of engineering technical changes
- Resolve supplier quality, pricing, and delivery issues promptly
- Participate in supplier audits and submit evaluations to management
- Participate on teams regarding new product development to help source materials and services
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by Manager within the physical constraints of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Comprehensive knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP) and best practices in high mix manufacturing
- Oracle, Coupa Procure to Pay and HICX Supplier Onboarding experience preferred
- BS: Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related field and 5 years purchasing and/or supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Purchasing Certification or CPM as issued by the Institute of Supply Management preferred
- Time management & prioritization skills. This is a highly transactional position
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls as it relates to purchasing and sourcing
- Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects
