This position is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and controlling the flow of production in a timely manner. This position supervises direct reports and is responsible for managing staff, including hiring, employee communications, training, discipline, evaluation, and termination responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.


  • Supervisor staff including hiring, employee communications, training, discipline, evaluation and termination responsibilities
  • Assign, train and direct employees on jobs
  • Ensure the machine operators are properly trained and work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure and assist with coordination of daily shop activities
  • Manage inventory levels
  • Responsible for all Time and Attendance functions       
  • Responsible for scheduling: vacations, overtime, etc.
  • Communicate rules of conduct
  • Key position in the implementation of the JIT/Demand Flow Manufacturing Techniques
  • Manage QPS functions in the manufacturing area
  • Issue records and reports as required
  • Monitor and maintain safety procedures and conditions to prevent accidents and provide a safe workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred (4+ years of manufacturing experience with at least one year as a lead or supervisor.)
  • Previous leadership experience desired (preferably in business or manufacturing environment)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and machining/assembling processes
  • Knowledge of production/materials control system
  • Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts and production schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operating targets (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/language skills required to include the ability to provide written and verbal instructions, compile and present business reports/correspondence, and present information clearly.

  • Capable of planning and organizing work and processes; ability to self-direct multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Quality and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to cooperate and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team member.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
