The Quality Technical Advisor – Locomotive testing and PDI will demonstrate leadership through driving exceptional Product quality, customer value beyond expectations, regulatory assurance, and optimized Cost of Quality. In this role s/he will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems during Locomotive Testing, drive proper RCA/CA on field failures, develop & execute objectives for up-stream manufacturing for continuous improvement. Role will require to have the ability to affect short-term & long-term business goals in Locomotive testing and PDI activities.

The Role requires for developing and leading a team of Quality inspectors to achieve the business objectives. The role requires close interaction with Customer, Program, Operations, Service Quality, Reliability Engineering and SQE to maintain seamless flow for Manufacturing Quality of the Locomotive.

In addition, you will drive Quality function in Locomotive testing, P2S and PDI through

Essential Responsibilities

Shall be able to lead ‘Customer PDI & Testing’ of Locomotive according to pre-defined requirements
Prepare & review internal quality & customer PDI documents
Shall be responsible for the ‘Quality Process’ of the end product and Locomotive functional testing and able to drive structured RCA and CAPA for pre-mature field failures and reliability failures
Should be Pro-active & Prompt to improve Product Quality with the approach/focus on the ‘Quality Assurance’
Shall be able to work cross functionally with Manufacturing, SQE, Fulfilment & Program to drive customer expectations within up-stream supply chain
Raise NCMR and follow up with stakeholders for disposition, rework, and RCA/CA
Make sure that Quality standards are set & followed per QMS and ISO
Should record and track internal quality escape defects and drive for permanent closure
Liaise with other stakeholders and provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
Prepare Internal audit schedule (Process Audit) and adhere to timelines.
Drive towards vision of ‘Zero’ escape defects within up-stream supply chain/manufacturing
Prepare/review ‘Detection plan’ for incoming, in process and finished goods
Participating in projects to optimize and standardize processes for resource optimization
Drive EHS and compliance culture
Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5-10 years of experience as Locomotive Testing/Manufacturing/ or similar industry type
Strong background in the interpretation of Engineering drawings / Specifications & Manufacturing processes
Strong knowledge of Locomotive System, Controls and Sub-Systems
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive end Customer Quality requirement
 Desired Characteristics 
Pro-active/Prompt, structured and detail oriented, Agile and flexible
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse group
Demonstrated oral & written communication skills
Strong analytical and presentation skills, Team player
Six Sigma- GB or DMAIC experience
Qualified Process Auditor
