The Regional Compliance Leader (EMEA) will be tasked with helping to ensure the implementation and operationalization of Wabtec’s Compliance Program into business units operating within EMEA. Candidates should have substantive experience working within a regulatory compliance function and knowledge of compliance regulations, especially those relating to anti-bribery, competition, data privacy, and human rights.

Location Germany (Leipzig, Munich, Bochum preferred) or France

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary compliance focal point for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)
  • Identify applicable local laws and regulations and help lead compliance efforts with those laws and regulations
  • Help to ensure the implementation and operationalization of Global Compliance Program into business units within EMEA
  • Help to facilitate compliance training and communications to employees and relevant third parties within the EMEA region
  • Help to organize and facilitate “Compliance Week” in EMEA
  • Promote a culture of compliance and integrity
  • Assist with the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures
  • Assist with compliance risk assessments and compliance reviews
  • Lead regional compliance review committees
  • Serve as primary reviewer and approver of routine business courtesy requests for EMEA
  • Address questions and provide guidance to employees on compliance-related policies and procedures
  • Help monitor compliance with applicable policies and procedures, especially those related to local laws
  • Support the Company’s adoption of tools and technologies that support the Global Compliance Program
  • Work collaboratively with other functions (e.g. HR, Audit and Finance) and other key stakeholders to appropriately document and respond to compliance issues and concerns

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in legal from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in general compliance, compliance operations or legal operations within the multinational companies
  • Strong cross-countries expertise across EMEA region
  • Ability to drive the compliance processes implementation
  • Knowledge of industrial environment will be a plus
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Fluent in English and French, any additional languages will be an advantage
