Role Summary/Purpose

The Senior Engineering Manager- Reliability is responsible for managing locomotive reliability. This role includes accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives that impact reliability, customer satisfaction, or product performance. In this role, you will develop and integrate processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, lead long-term planning, and develop the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage a group of reliability engineers who serve as main technical interface between customers, suppliers, and Wabtec with great visibility inside and outside the company
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams providing technical direction to meet project deliverables
• Facilitate customer solutions with urgency and financial responsibility
• Support the development and fulfillment of the engineering planning for the assigned projects
• Coordinate engineers to prepare and deliver design in compliance with engineering standards and customer contractual requirements
• Communicate status of fleets and projects with senior level leaders
• Coordinate activities to drive project quality
• Work closely with Fleet Program Managers to ensure timely execution of field modifications

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering / quality / reliability. min 2 yrs experience as people manager or project manager
• Willingness and Ability to travel 10% of the time

Desired Characteristics

• Experience in reliability engineering
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Wabtec only)
• Experience in design or maintenance of Wabtec locomotives
• Knowledge of GE Maintenance Service Agreement (MSA) contracts and service shop operations
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
