Position Summary:
Interface between Sourcing regional team and other functions on site
Lead the Sourcing activities for all the product line bids
Accountable for external spend competitiveness in standard products and bids
Accountable for product line sourcing performance (NDA, SFA, SQR)
1st escalation level for troubleshooting after Supply Chain
Management of site-specific commodities where applicable
Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:
Establish sourcing strategy for the Product Line: preferred suppliers for standard product, (based on regional Commodity panels), co-ordination of the regional commodity teams to involve and include relevant supply chain strategies
Provide site level documentation to regional commodity teams (engineering drawings, tech specs, operational requirements)
Accountable for bid sourcing competitiveness, challenge and validate Bid BOM
Own the sourcing bid process, engage for early supplier involvement & supplier cooperation and innovation for bids
Lead resourcing projects and the development of new suppliers to maintain a competitive marketplace
Obtain samples and co-ordinates qualification process with Quality and Engineering
Coordinate: phasing of resourcing vs. tests, existing volumes from initial supplier
Commercial responsibility:
Delivery of company savings in line with company objectives
Manage claims and charge-back, incl. COPQ
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and demonstrate the company values
Creation of long-term supply agreements with key suppliers (NDA, SFA, SQR

Extensive knowledge of purchasing and supply management processes
Worked in a bids/tendering environment
Good Knowledge of supplier selection strategies
Track record of cost reduction
Excellent communicator and negotiator
Supplier contract negotiation
Excellent analytical & presentation skills
Tenacious, persuasive, “completer finisher”
Change management
Relevant product knowledge – Rail industry would be advantageous
Qualifications/Education required:
7+ years of purchasing experience
CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential
Degree educated would be an advantage but not essential
