Job Summary:

Assist in the design and development of test scripts, software, and test fixtures to validate the products manufactured at Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE) operate properly.  WRE is a leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of hardened production tests including:
  • Research, define, design, analyze, and validate new production tests for new products for railroad applications.
  • Assist with the development of test requirements/specifications, project plans, and other engineering project documentation.
  • Develop production test scripts, software, and test fixtures to verify production hardware.
  • Develop production support documentation, including, but not limited to test procedures and test fixture documentation.
• Represent WRE on a technical basis to both customers and suppliers.
  • Provide testing information to customers on an as needed basis.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues in production both at the supplier and WRE locations.
  • Provide required information for installing new releases of test software and hardware.
• Help to define and promote standardized tools.
• Review designs of other engineers for completeness, accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance to specifications.
• Participate in design and project reviews.
• Investigate and resolve product failures.
• Maintain products, tests and test fixtures throughout their life cycle.
• Train production personnel on new or revised tests.
• Follow WRE ISO development process.

Qualifications:

• BS in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, software, mechanical, test development and systems interactions.
• Knowledge of TestStand, LabView and Python preferred.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Ability to apply knowledge effectively towards solving real problems.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, results-oriented and a clear focus on quality.
