Role Summary/Purpose

We are looking for Full Stack Senior Developers who can join in our exciting journey of building next generation features. In this role, you will develop innovative software products and solutions for the PortOptimizer program as part of Logistics & Analytics group in Digital Solutions business vertical within Wabtec. Port Optimizer™, a first-of-its-kind information portal designed to digitize maritime shipping data for cargo owners and supply chain stakeholders through secure, channeled access. You will be responsible for design and development of product features, components and/or feature sets. You will be leveraging best practices and processes while demonstrating ability to learn and adapt to technologies and problem-solving abilities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software using Scrum and Agile development methodologies, including daily standups and iteration planning meetings.

• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.

• Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.

• Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.

• Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

• Drive code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation

• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.

• Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.

• Demonstrates expert understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.

• Work as an individual contributor and closely collaborate with architect and technical leaders

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required, with 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Able to quickly iterate and refine planned features’ backlog based on partners needs.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and work you're doing
• Familiar with web-based systems and architecture across the full-stack, with specific expertise in at least back or front-end development, databases & DevOps.
• Experience maintaining and scaling high-volume software systems in an Agile environment
• Ability to understand the needs & challenges of different businesses and industries to build solutions to tackle for them at scale.
• Server-side software development experience using Java, NodeJS, and/or other comparable technologies.
• Minimum of 3+ years hands on experience writing microservices using spring boot technologies using java/j2ee tech stack
• Client-side web application development experience using Angular, React, jQuery, and/or other comparable technologies.
• Expertise in building large-scale systems using fault tolerant technologies (such as ElasticSearch, Cassandra DB, & Kafka).
• Experience working with container technologies like Docker and K8S.
• Able to define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for a Release to ensure the system or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose.
• Experience with deployment, continuous delivery, infrastructure management, software quality assurance (documentation, unit testing, test automation, security analysis, and code reviews).
• Experience with developing reporting interfaces, data feeds, and/or data visualizations for business & partner consumption.
• General understanding of enterprise commerce, sales, and software licensing is a plus.
