Summary:
The System Administrator will provide operational support for numerous Enterprise-level development, test and production environments supporting a portfolio of transportation related software products. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional team that delivers high-quality and reliable mission-critical infrastructure that support our customers’ success. The ideal candidate will have the curiosity to understand problems, find answers, and design solutions that help the business provide value to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Triage, remediate and document support tickets across the internal and external environments supported by our team
Identify, design, and implement automation for infrastructure management and maintenance tasks
Troubleshoot and diagnose Windows and Linux server issues, including reliability issues, performance concerns, software bugs, and hardware failures
Participate in the design and orchestration of environment upgrades, technology enhancements and other projects requiring software, hardware, storage and network orchestration
Monitor internal development and test environments to proactively diagnose server reliability and performance issues, software bugs and hardware failures
Collaborate with team members to
provide project review input
swarm project tasks to ensure on-time and reliable customer deliveries
proactively catch and remediate defects
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications_:_
Bachelors degree in STEM or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in Windows server production environments
Minimum of 3 years experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux production environments
Minimum of 2 years experience administrating VMware environments
Minimum of 1 year administering public cloud environments, AWS preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Active RHCSA and/or WSHAA certification (preferred)
Experience working in an Agile Development Lifecycle focused environment
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
Experience administering and maintaining user accounts within a Microsoft Active Directory
Experience with WSUS and Windows patching procedures
Experience with local Linux repositories and Linux patch procedures
Ansible scripting development and testing
Ability to work unsupervised. – Ability to define daily goals, work towards them, communicate status and blockers, ask for help and adapt as needed to shifting priorities and needs
Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
Experience managing Veritas Netbackup and/or Veeam in a production environment
Ability to develop and follow procedures
Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in documenting installation and configuration processes
Experience with Zabbix monitoring software
Hands on experience deploying and maintaining Dell and/or HP Intel-based servers
Experience with Hitachi or Dell storage arrays
