Warranty Technical Co-ordinator

Job Location:


Key Aim:

Co-ordinate and facilitate technical and project stakeholder interaction relating to aftermarket support of Wabtec UK Products and Services, helping to ensure cost-effective delivery of contractual commitments.

Key Duties & Tasks:

  • Support the QRQC activities to conclude the investigation and corrective action.
  • Facilitate the single contact point for the warranty support related needs to customer and projects.
  • Register and process customer warranty claims ensuring rigorous checking of validity in line with contractual commitments
  • Compile warranty outcome reports and defect studies as required by customer contracts
  • Support the Reliability Team in evolving the project reliability data through authentic detailed reporting of field failures.
  • Co-ordinate and attend joint investigations with customers and other Wabtec UK Product Lines
  • Produce and develop KPIs aligned to the reliability & performance of systems/services supplied.
  • Produce reports to identify Return on Experience (REX) during project design and execution phases
  • Participate in the FRACAS programme (internally and with customers) for all relevant FS contracts under warranty or FS contract.
  • Participate in customer meetings related to FRACAS, Engineering and RAMS issues.
  • Represent FS in the Project core team for warranty related matters
  • Ensure FS deliverables within the project organization is followed (e.g. warranty management plan, FS intervention reporting, Warranty budget follow up, site spares management, Component traceability, retrofit etc).
  • Project warranty issues/Open item list follow ups.
  • QRQC follow up on the project issues (including relevant WIM reporting and actions).
  • Active contribution in the reliability growth programme for the project and follow actions which relate to reliability performance in the project, containment actions etc.
  • Compile the weekly and monthly project performance reports related to warranty for FS and relevant Projects
  • Complete monthly arising work reports for all contracts and ensure these are passed to relevant Project Managers for action/billing with the customer in a timely manner.
  • Direct point of contact for the customer warranty organization.

Requirements (Essential)

Education & Qualifications

Graduate of a relevant engineering discipline

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Excellent communication skills at all levels.

Organised and able to manage multiple issues.

IT literate and conversant with Microsoft office, & ability to learn IT Quality/Engineering tools i.e. WIM, Movex, ECM, ECR.

Excellent Problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Positive attitude to change.

Able to work autonomously.

Other requirements

Valid Driving Licence.

Travel to customer site/depot for any warranty issues, as necessary.
