SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Assemble parts per drawing and perform welding operations within the specified parameters to complete assemblies in a timely manner.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform set-up, operation, and day-to-day maintenance of MIG welding equipment
  • Read linear measuring devices accurately and determine assemblies are to specifications
  • Weld around various shaft diameters, flat, vertical fillet, and lap joints of 7 Ga. to 5/16” metal.
  • Follow welding parameters set by standard specifications to produce quality parts
  • Visually inspect welds to determine compliance with specifications    
  • Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Accurately report labor and inspections daily
  • SUPERVISION:
  • Work under limited supervision, with continuous effort to improve operations, work and/or coordinate with other employees to streamline processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings, specifications/standards, and follow oral instructions
  • Ability to use, and read measuring devices and equipment
  • AWS certified welder or pass In-house welding tests
  • Ability to stand for approximately 8 to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. approximately twelve to sixteen times per hour
