Summary:

At the Cleveland, Ohio site our focus is manufacturing or remanufacturing of high-quality armature, stator, OEM coils, and field service coils for the transit industry while maintaining high quality.  The winders are responsible for coil insulation of electric motors along with electrically testing before moved to the next process.  This role reports to the department supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring proper coil insulation-meeting customer requirements.
• Clean and de-bur armature or stator
• Inspect armature or stator for cracks or other imperfections
• Insulate and wind armature or stator
• Brazing if needed
• Spray Teflon agent on stator core
• Apply epoxy to stator and remove excess from product
• Adjust winding machine
• Electrically test
• Produce quality work to the customer’s written specifications
• Issue materials to jobs in an accurate and timely manner.
• Understanding document center and how to properly utilize the system.

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications_:_  

• High School graduate, or equivalent course work in skilled crafts or trades training.
• One year minimum industry experience in manufacturing or transportation and/or training.
• Possess basic ship math skills, and ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Familiarity with brazing or soldering.
• Must be able to use mechanical & pneumatic tools, electrical test equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and hands on. 

Physical Demands:

• Employee is regularly required to stand/sit for 8 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.
• Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
• Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
• Employee is regularly required to operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to forklifts and cranes.
• Employee is regularly required to wear a steel toe shoes and safety glasses at all times.
• The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
