What you'll do
During the 10-week internship, participants will:
- Gain an understanding of the vision, mission and strategic objectives of our Sustainability function
- Learn about numerous Sustainability-led initiatives and the various roles within Sustainability
- Become aware of Walmart's circular economy agenda
- Manage key milestones and deliverables related to their assigned internship project within an area of zero waste, plastic waste or food waste
- Take initiative, remain bold in their ideas and actively participate in all discussions
- Conduct internal and external research/benchmarking as appropriate
- Partner with other associates across teams/functions to identify solutions and present recommendations
- Receive support and guidance from a host of individuals including a dedicated Program Manager
A successful Sustainability Intern will:
- Possess the ability to work in a professional, confidential and everchanging environment
- Have strong communication skills and judgment abilities
- Have strong organizational skills with a particular emphasis on being detail oriented
- Demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking skills
- Remain a proactive, self-starter who is open to new challenges and can adequately manage risk
- Be able to analyze a problem, take a stance and propose a solution
- Maintain strong partnerships and work effectively in a team environment
- Uphold all values of the Walmart culture
Minimum Qualifications
- Students pursuing a BS/BA in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field
- Graduating with an undergraduate degree between December 2021 and May 2022
