What you'll do...

The Senior Manager I, Strategic Account Manager role is at the heart of the Marketplace organization. As a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for growing the most critical accounts in Walmart’s Marketplace business. You’ll partner with senior executives and leaders in these accounts to build their business on the Marketplace through strategic account planning, performance analysis, inventory insights, exclusive deals, events, and new product launches.

You will work closely with the Director, Marketplace responsible for this area to drive the day-to-day operations for the category to deliver the sales, profit and experience goals and define the assortment strategy in tandem with the Merchants. You will prioritize and champion opportunities to expand selection, improve discoverability, influence pricing and inventory and drive adoption of seller growth programs. You will lead a small but mighty team of high-performing account managers responsible for helping our most strategic sellers exceed their business plans.  If you are customer-focused, strategic and eager to thrive in a high growth environment, this role is for you!

You’ll make an impact by:  

  • Strategic Business Acumen:  Use Industry knowledge and market data to identify and implement strategic business initiatives to drive seller growth. Partner with sellers to adopt new programs to scale and optimize their business results while delighting the customer with a broad assortment and best in class customer experience. Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and decision-makers to develop business plans that exceed expectations. Partner with internal product and program teams to solve seller pain points and accelerate growth of the seller on the Walmart marketplace platform.
  • Influential Communication, Partnership, Collaboration and Negotiation: Identify stakeholders and deploy communication and engagement techniques that build world-class partnerships and unlock business potential for Walmart marketplace.  Employ a “one team” approach to accomplish the goals of the business and drive negotiations from a “win-win” perspective that establishes credibility and trust with our partners and delivers consistently improved performance.  
  • Entrepreneurial Innovation:  As the owner and expert of your seller segment on the Walmart marketplace you’ll control its destiny through your strategic road map detailing the opportunities in your seller segment, industry and market. You’ll leverage product knowledge and market trends to unlock new models and ways of working to drive continued exponential growth.
  • Seller Lifecycle: As a marketplace seller obsessed expert you’ll identify and develop new sellers to drive strategic value creation relationships.  You’ll leverage market trends and industry insights to develop strategies that unlock seller potential across your marketplace seller segment.  
  • Digital Literacy and Analytics:  Leverage objective data and analysis to build a marketplace business strategy along with innovative tools, reporting and visualizations that drive insight into your business and strategy performance. The output will surface problems, inform, and influence your decision-making and drive enhance internal and external customer relationships.
  • Leverage Talent: Partner with leadership to optimize team performance through identification of individual strengths to ensure effective associate performance.
