Position: Advanced Analytics Manager III

Duties: Consults with senior leadership/ business partners (e.g., Sr. Directors/Directors) to understand overall goals/functional objectives, decipher key business challenges, identify tactics to anticipate and mitigate business challenges/issues and develop potential success criteria. Focuses efforts on items that have maximum impact to the business. Contributes to business area strategic planning by providing input and actionable recommendations and solutions to senior leadership based on advanced research and analytical findings. Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives. Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance. Conducts performance and career development conversations, if applicable. Maintains team motivation and engagement. Mentors less experienced associates and managers. Owns complex projects end-to-end for a business area, category or prototype. Manages risk associated with implementation. Develops data models (algorithms, approaches) for complex projects within a business area or category to drive business results and value. Collaborates with project team to implement modeling solutions. Manages the development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms for complex projects. Manages the testing and validation process to monitor the solution. Evaluates new data analysis techniques to support prototype development. Collaborates with cross-functional partners (e.g., software engineering, category management) on prototypes and algorithms. Leads the development and execution of advanced analytics to address unique business and technical problems, and support data-driven decision making. Makes strategic recommendations to cross-functional leadership based on analysis results. Collaborates across all analytics functions to develop and implement data analysis strategies and anticipate future trends and analysis. Collaborates with functional leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Categories, Customer Experience, Merchandising) to develop consultative solutions for complex projects for a business area, category or prototype. Collaborates and partners with external business partners and vendors. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics or a related field plus 4 years of experience in data analytics or a related field; OR 6 years of experience in data analytics or a related field.
Skills required: Must have experience with: Aggregating data, query writing using SQL, R and SAS, creating efficiencies through automation of code, KPI identification, delivering recommendations based on data analyses, development of dashboards; Advanced programming skills in SAS and SQL to automate complex dashboards using a combination of database building with SQL, Teradata to automation using Alteryx, visualizing using Tableau, Cognos and analyzing with SAS, R; Designing and implementing CRM databases to build complex marketing advertising tech and tech frameworks (research and deployment of CRM); Developing and executing statistical and mathematical predictive model solutions to business problems; implementing linear optimization at scale, a/b testing, implementing offer and contact strategy at scale, targeting, applied statistics (A/B testing, Descriptive statistics, Inferential Statistics) in marketing with SAS, R, Python; Continuous generation of compelling and actionable insights via web analytics, leadership on ad technologies and working with multiple third party ad tech companies to present and create marketing analytics reports and proposals (Google Analytics, Adobe Omniture, Multi Touch Attribution and Marketing Mix Modelling); Extracting insights from randomized control experiments, marketing mix models and multi-touch-attribution models to come up with recommendations through hypothesis testing, ANOVA, A/B test, T test, Chi square test, perform regression analysis to understand relationships between variables (marketing initiatives and sales); Identifying confounding variables to create an impact on marketing spend and tactics with various statistical and programming languages (R, Python, SQL, SAS, and JMP); Delivering campaign analytics support in targeting, insights and strategy by leveraging data (Teradata, IBM SPSS and Alteryx for data extraction, cleansing and manipulation); Manipulating large data sets with SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Web Analytics, Statistical Models, R, Python, Teradata, Tableau, Nielsen, and CRM while clearly and effectively communicating complex technical insights to multiple audiences; Mentoring and training of team members to use the dataset and tools.
