Analyst II, Supply Chain Management - Intermodal Dispatcher

Walmart Intermodal is looking for top talent to join the organization. The Walmart intermodal team is seeking entrepreneurial minded, solution oriented, creative problem solvers to help build this program. The ideal candidate has in-depth analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions and create buy in from stakeholders. This Manager will influence across the organization; including but not limited to executing on business strategy plans, providing cost reductions and process efficiencies, and analyzing the impact and benefits to internal processes.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to lean into their peers and internal and external stakeholders. This is a high impact team with great visibility from executive leadership at Walmart.

• Plan, prioritize and execute deliveries to warehouses by dispatching drivers and 3rd party truckers
• Provide drivers with information about traffic, terminal conditions, obstacles and requirements
• Monitor/report out-gate and in-gate activities and dispatch empty container return to avoid storage charges
• Escalate discrepancy in the information and data to the respective teams and ensure resolutions are delivered
• Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed
• Assist Operation Manager to ensure that work/chassis is distributed evenly among Independent Contractors.

An ideal candidate should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Statistics or related field area OR 3 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area
• 1 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office
• Must be motivated in learning processes and open to understanding procedural objectives
• Exceptional follow-up skills and ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Ability to work well cross functionally
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, effectively manage stress, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill

An ideal candidate would exceed our expectations with

• Experience in managing intermodal and rail locations is strongly preferred
• 1-3 years of Dispatch experience
• Experience in intermodal operations
