AngularJS Senior Software Engineer

Build an unparalleled omni-channel giving ecosystem which connects our communities and shifts the power of giving of time, money, space, and products to our stakeholders and inspires a culture of ‘doing more good, more often’. Walmart List and Registry aims to unleash our assets for good by developing omni-channel ways for our customers to give back to causes they love in their local communities. This role will help develop products and features integrated into the Glass shopping experience that connect and engage customers, associates and nonprofits in community giving. 

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be part of a medium sized scrum team. This team runs a backend platform for 7+ applications serving 500 million+ API requests.

You will participate in all aspects of the J2EE development process, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning. You will provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Additionally, you will own subsystems, mentor junior developers, and participate in cross team solutions for larger features.

This position will require working with Product managers to refine roadmap, scrum process and sprint-by-sprint delivery. You’ll be helping to create HLD, LLD and guide the team to implement the solution as required by product and business for the best of class customer experience. You’ll help analysing tradeoffs across various implementation possibilities, components, design patterns etc. to implement the best-in-class engineering solutions.

You’ll own the quality of the solution that your team delivers; by, designing the testing approach, suite and guiding the team members to appropriately add automated testing on each delivery that they make.

You’ll be improving all the solutions, applications and software artifacts by performance tuning, forward-looking approach towards technology, research, and addition of best engineering solutions for the top-notch performance of the full stack.

You’ll be leading and guiding the maintenance of the applications in production environment by creating dashboards, performance tracking mechanisms and regularly add ways to improve on it through time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of experience building scalable ecommerce applications or related software or Master’s & 4+ years of relevant experience.

• 6+ years working in large scale enterprise software development environments.

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful microservices.

• 4+ years of experience with feature development using Java, J2EE, and Spring framework. 

• 2+ years of experience designing and using databases on SQL and NoSQL.

• 2+ years of experience in using telemetry implementation, performance monitoring, performance optimization and creating operational dashboards. Namely on technologies such as Splunk.

• 2+ years of experience in using messaging systems such as Kafka.

• Clear Communication, including the ability to create functional charts.

• Ability to multitask between several different requirements and features concurrently.

• Experience with cloud native technology, git, CI/CD. Namely with Azure/AWS/GCP, GitHub and Jenkins

• Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.

• Ability to perform in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure services

• Experience with Cosmos DB

• Experience with Shell scripting

• Experience with GraphQL
